This recipe for Birdseed Hearts makes approximately 12 hearts.

You will need:
-3/4 cup flour (we used whole wheat)
-1/2 cup water
-1 envelope unflavored gelatin (2.5 teaspoons)
-3 tbsp corn syrup (if the mixture is not sticking together, add more)
-4 cups birdseed (we used birdseed with sunflowers and corn… the birdseed without these large pieces works best because it sticks together better)

You will also need:

-large mixing bowl
-heart shaped cookie cutter
-nonstick spray
-chopstick or bamboo skewer for making a hole in the ornament
-parchment paper
-cookie sheet
